I wasn’t going to post this yet as I’m still working on it. But I’ve been fooling with it so long that I ran out of time to do a regular post.

My father’s favorite print was “Grace” from a 1918 photo by Eric Enstrom. It hung on the wall over his kitchen table until he, and then my mother, passed away. Now it hangs in my dining room. I don’t want to duplicate it but I want to create something inspired by it and from it’s elements. I probably won’t include a full person in the final. Maybe just the weathered hands of my elderly neighbor.

Enstrom’s original was of course in black and white but later his daughter began hand coloring them. You can see the original and the story behind it here:
