The Votive Seller at Dawn

I talked to the folks at SmugMug and they said "it is a known problem" and that the "Heroes" are working on it???Overnight I received 12 emails with Comments about previously posted photos but I don't know which ones because the links all go to yesterday's photo. Arrgh!*****In a few weeks we’ll be driving down to Austin to visit our son and his family. On the way back home we’re going to catch Route 66 in Amarillo and follow it (or what’s left of it) to Barstow. In 1967, I drove it from Chicago to Santa Monica in my Triumph TR4. I guess I had a premonition that prompted me to do it while it was still “alive” because the two authors that fueled my interest in making the trip died shortly after, John Steinbeck in 1968 and Jack Kerouac in 1969.It’s all four lane, divided Interstate now (I40) but we hope to get off onto the “mother road” where it’s still accessible and shoot some photos of the historic and funky parts. I’ve got a set of state by state maps of the old road, but if anyone has done any of this in the last year or so, I’d appreciate any updates on what’s left of the old roadside attractions. This gentleman is preparing flowers at a street stall for the morning worshipers at a temple across the street.
