The Gleaners

dsc_0493-editA few years ago, I was making annual fall trips to the Palouse (eastern Washington) to photograph the wheat harvest. Travelling the dusty back-roads for days at a time was hard on my camera gear and my vehicle. But the views were well worth it. I’ll post a few more later.

dsc_0092-edit-2The last photo below shows the way it used to be in the 1920s when teams of 20 to 200 horses were needed to pull the harvesters up and down the hills of the Palouse.
