I recently bought a 55″ widescreen HD TV to replace the one I bought 11 years ago. That one cost $10,000 and there was only one channel occasionally broadcasting HD content at the time. Needless to say, the new one cost considerably less and has much higher picture quality.

Anyway, I decided to re-edit some of my previous photos to fit the 16:9 format and put them in a slide show. This is one of them. Seeing how some of them look on screen at 53″ by 30″, I am tempted to have a few printed for the wall.

This photo was taken at dawn from the top of Steptoe Butte in the Palouse wheat-lands of eastern Washington. I was 1000 feet above and about 3 miles distant (see note below) from the red barn. At 0530 it was cold and windy, and my coffee had ran out about a half hour before. But I was waiting for that shadow to recede from the barn.
